Play Hearts free
Green Room Hearts is the classic card game of Hearts, for four, with SCATTER's VESPER, NARAE and TILT in the other three seats, backstage after a show. It's free, it plays right here on a phone or a computer, and it keeps your game if you leave halfway. No account, nothing to download.
How to play Hearts
Everyone gets thirteen cards. Before each hand you pass three to another player: left, then right, then across, then a hand where nobody passes. Whoever holds the two of clubs leads the first trick; everyone follows the suit led if they can, and the highest card of that suit takes the trick. Each heart you take is a point against you and the queen of spades is thirteen, so the aim is to take as few as you can. Hearts can't be led until one has been played. Take every heart and the queen in one hand, and you've shot the moon: you score nothing and everyone else gets 26. The game ends when someone reaches 100 (or 50 in a quick game), and the lowest score wins.
Who you're playing
VESPER plays it cool: counts the high spades, hunts the queen out, and sheds it on whoever's in the lead. NARAE plays it safe and steady, sheds high cards early and never chases a big hand. TILT plays it bold, and when a hand is full of high hearts, watch out: TILT will go for the moon.
Tips
Pass the cards that can hurt you: the queen of spades without plenty of low spades to hide it among, the ace and king of spades that catch it, and high hearts. Passing away all the cards of a short suit leaves you free to throw points on someone else's tricks. And if one player is taking every point, take a heart off them before it's too late.
